Paper Dungeons has been a tabletop RPG for some time now and a decently popular one at that. However if you are not really into the tabletop RPG scene, you probably haven’t heard of it. Well the good news is that now you don’t have to be a tabletop RPG player in order to enjoy Paper Dungeons as it has been digitized, massaged, visually strengthened, and released onto Android.

Steel Media regularly holds indie Pitch events throughout the year. These are events where developers can pitch a game they are currently developing, to a panel of judges. If you are in the top three then you win various prizes that are meant to help you out with your game’s launch. However, a few times a year there are also Big Indie Pitch events and these are much bigger versions of the regular indie pitches. This means the prizes are also bigger.

Many of you may remember 22Can’s rather interesting social gaming experiment called Curiosity which essentially had thousands and thousands of mobile gamers tapping away at a giant cube in the hopes of being the person who gets the last tap to reveal the very center of the cube. This person was promised a life changing reward for getting that last tap. 18-year-old Bryan Henderson happen to be that person and when he accessed the center of the cube, he was greeted with a video congratulating him, giving him a contact email address to use in order to claim his life changing prize.
Machineers is an interesting episodic puzzle construction game that has done pretty well for itself since the first episode was released. Since then the developers, Lohika, have been working to get episode 2 finished and ready to go. Well it seems as though it is almost complete as Lohika has announced that episode 2 for Machineers will be arriving next month.
The PS Vita skateboarding game OlliOlli glides onto Android but only for the Nvidia Shield Portable
OlliOlli is a popular skateboarding game for the PS Vita and now it is available for Android as well. However before you go rushing out to get it there is one thing you need to know, it is only available for the Nvidia Shield Portable… at least for right now anyways. So if you have a Shield Portable then you are in luck when it comes to grabbing a copy of OlliOlli today.
[Update: Released] Acquire announces their upcoming combat strategy game Fort Raiders Smaaash! Arriving February 12th for Android
Acquire, the Tokyo-based game development studio behind the Way of The Samurai and Tenchu series, has announced their newest game today which will be heading to Android in just over a week’s time. The new game is called Fort Raiders Smaaash! and it is a new combat strategy type of game.
You may not have heard of a company called Yezz and that’s probably because they are kind of a small company lurking in the shadows of the mobile industry, at least here in the United States. They are a bit more well-known over in Europe. The company deals with producing phones and tablets for Android, Windows, and Firefox. Since they are already in the hardware business, Yezz has announced that they will start developing and producing modules for Google’s Project Ara.
Amazon has bundled up past Android applications and games that have at one point been on the company’s Free App of the Day feature. In total the bundle has over $140 worth of free apps and games for you to sift through and download the ones you want… or all of them just because you can.
In terms of brand cross-overs, franchises like Angry Birds and Puzzle & Dragons tend to do a lot of them. While this may get played out after awhile, especially with Angry Birds, once in awhile a cross-over does happen that is just plain cool and Temple Run 2 has started one that is just that.
