Dig It Ancient Shovel Guide
This massive update hauled three new collections along with it, and unlocking the Ancient Shovel requires reaching the final layer of Volkayno. If you know how to get there, skip ahead to ‘The Oasis Quest’ heading. But, for a full walkthrough, keep reading!
After arriving at Volkayno, you’ll need to obtain a Key found in its Collection. The Molten Key is Exotic in rarity and is a reward for completing the Volkayno Collection in full, including the mount. It allows you to travel down to the second layer using the elevator to the right of the Magmatar Boss spawn platform.
In the second layer, Devil’s Pit, you’ll need to pick up a quest from the Brewton NPC. In exchange for 1x Pepper, 1x Lava Flower, x1 Crystal, x1 Lava Slime and x1 Lava Bucket, you’ll receive a Potion of Fire Resistance lasting 30 minutes. The potion lets you travel to the deeper part of the Devil’s Pit where several NPCs reside and the Ancient Door, littered with eyes.
As expected, you’ll need to get the Exotic Rarity Key from the Devil’s Pit Collection to enter the gate. After opening it, complete the Ancient Trial parkour. Be careful! Some of the platforms are unsteady, and pretty much everything in the Trial attempts to prevent you from crossing.
The Oasis Quest
On the other side of the Ancient Trial is the final layer of Volkayno, The Oasis. This area is only small and is home to the Oni NPC and Ancient Shovel.
Speak with the Oni NPC and begin his quest to complete the Oasis Collection. When done, speak with him again to attain the final quest which is to bring 20 Holy Treasures for Sacrifice. When both are done, he will permit you to buy the Ancient Shovel from the centre of The Oasis.
