Hogyoku Fragments are elusive and hard to grind for. My Type Soul Hogyoku Fragment Guide tells you what these Fragments are used for, and a few tricks to getting more in your inventory without an endless grinding session.

Hogyoku Fragments aren’t to be confused with the True Hogyoku. These Legendary fragments allow the different races to become stronger through evolution. Whereas the Mythical rarity True Hogyoku upgrades an existing evolution: The Vizard, Vastocar or Letzt Stil.

Type Soul Hogyoku Fragment Guide

Hogyoku Fragments are Legendary in rarity and incredibly hard to get. These 0.5% low-drop loots can only be obtained via Faction Raids such as Soul Society, Hueco Mundo and Wandenreich.

The only evolution which doesn’t require Hogyoku Fragments is the Vastocar, which is the height of evolution for Hollow races. Becoming a Vastocar follows a different method entirely, so I won’t get into it here.

For both the Vizard and Letzt Stil evolution, you’ll need 10 Hogyoku Fragments. These fragments can be consumed by the player to turn from Shinigami to Vizard, and Quincy to Letzt Stil. There is more to the method than just eating Fragments, so if you want a more detailed analysis check out our Type Soul Vizard Guide and Type Soul Letzt Stil Guide.

Top Tip: Try not to die with your Hogyoku Fragments as these are hugely valuable if equipped and can drop upon defeat for other players to snatch.

Hogyoku Fragment Trading

My top tip is to trade for Hogyoku Fragments since this will be a much quicker method than grinding Raids. In fact, if you’re after Frags, drop a comment and find other players who are willing to trade them with you!
