After more than a year since its initial announcement, AlternaVvelt Blue Exorcist Another Story has finally launched on Android. The 3D action RPG is published by Aniplex on mobile. This one is a fresh take on the Blue Exorcist universe with an entirely new storyline.
The game had its fair share of delays and uncertainties. But the official launch has finally rolled out across Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
The dark fantasy world created by Kazue Kato is back in a new form
While the game shares familiar settings like True Cross Academy Town, this is not a retelling or continuation of the main series. It’s more of a spin-off with its own direction and original cast.
The game introduces an entirely new set of characters. It’s all designed by Kazue Kato, who is also behind the original manga. You’ll still follow familiar faces like Rin Okumura and his brother Yukio. But the narrative pivots into a new realm that hasn’t been explored in the anime or manga before.

Gameplay-wise, you can master different Demonic Elements and use Arcana and Skills in battle. You get to tackle powerful bosses in multiplayer modes alongside guild members or friends.
It also has social elements like room customisation. It’s a feature that lets you design your personal spaces and visit others in the game. The game’s fully voiced story features notable voice actors like Jun Fukuyama, Kana Hanazawa, Yuki Kaji, Tetsuya Kakihara, and Hiroshi Kamiya.
Alterna Vvelt may not be a direct sequel to the original Blue Exorcist, but it looks promising. So, get the game from the Google Play Store if you’re interested.
