There have been a lot of match-3 games on mobile already. But if the premise is right and there is a fair amount of cuteness added to it, I don’t mind trying out yet another match-3 game. And I can confidently say that Ash & Snow: Cat Pop’n Match falls into that category.
What’s Ash & Snow: Cat Pop’n Match?
It’s a cute cat match-3 puzzle. The game’s name draws from the two protagonists. They are two cats, one named Ash, the other Snow. And their names kind of tell us what they look like. Ash is an adorable black cat, while Snow is a fluffy white cat.
Like any other match-3 puzzle game, you match three or more of the same coloured pieces in the game. You trigger the usual chain reactions with boosters like rockets and bombs and clear stages to move forward.
Ash & Snow: Cat Pop’n Match is lovely because of its simplicity and the inclusion of its ever-present cat mascots. Ash and Snow accompany you throughout the game, lounging in corners of the screen or popping up to cheer you on as you beat stages.

It’s coming from the same team behind the retro RPG Isekai Dispatcher
The game is by Ignition M, the Japanese game studio who has made games like PreCats! – Idle Cat Raising, SAMURAI X – X-Sword style and Isekai Dispatcher – Pixel game. Their latest title, Ash & Snow: Cat Pop’n Match, takes a softer route than most of their previous titles.
