Atari Returns to the Combat Brand with Atari Combat: Tank Fury on Mobile

Atari, in collaboration with developer Kung Fu Factory, has revived the Combat brand with Atari Combat: Tank Fury.

In case you’re not old or strangely well-informed about video game history to get the reference, Combat was one of Atari’s early home console hits. It saw players maneuvering blocky tanks and trying to shoot each other.

Atari Combat: Tank Fury, by contrast, is a match-three puzzler with an RPG progression system. While the theme is military, the presentation is modern and polished, suggesting that we may be barking up the wrong tree with this Combat connection.

That said, if you Google “Atari Combat” you get a long, long list of results for the 1977 game.

As to this one, Atari Combat: Tank Fury looks like an accessible, tank-themed free-to-play match-three puzzler. You can check it out for yourself by downloading it for free right now on Google Play.
