Breath of the Wild-Inspired RPG Genshin Impact Gets a Release Date

Genshin Impact, the hotly anticipated mobile action-RPG that bears a strong resemblance to Breath of the Wild, has finally got a firm release date. You’ll be able to play it on September 28th.

Developed by miHoYo, Genshin Impact is a huge open-world RPG in which you’ll be able to play either solo or co-op with up to four other adventurers. They won’t even have to be fellow Android adventurers, either, since Genshin Impact is cross-platform across PC, Android, and iOS. It’s coming to PS4 too in due course.

Storywise, the game sees you setting out to find your lost sibling. Naturally, this will involve plenty of exploration and violence, via an elemental system that purportedly requires “both brains and brawn”.

The campaign will take you through the seven cities of Teyvat, though only two will be available at launch. miHoYo promises a distinct feel in each of the game’s regions. More areas and characters will be added in future.

You can pre-register for Genshin Impact right now on the Google Play Store. The more pre-registrations the game gets, the more goodies players will receive when it goes live.
