Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is making its way to mobile this year with pre-registration now live. The game launched recently on Steam. Developed by Funday Games and published by Ghost Ship (on mobile), it’s a spin-off of the original first-person co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic.
Survivor is a single-player, top-down bullet heaven, carrying the same universe and lore. While the original features four dwarves working together, Survivor puts a single dwarf on a solo mission to mine resources and fight enemies (read: bugs).
The auto-shooter drops the dwarf into the hostile depths of Planet Hoxxes. You focus on movement, dodging, and digging deeper into the caverns. Each mission comes with procedurally generated caves and unique enemy waves.
Once the Drop Pod deploys you into the darkness, you’re left to complete objectives assigned by the Company. You grow stronger by upgrading gear and try to make it back to extraction with loot in hand.
Classes from the original game return in adapted form. The Driller has mining efficiency with beam and thrown weapons, while the Engineer thrives with drones, turrets, and explosives. The Scout moves the quickest with light weapon expertise, and the Gunner brings heavy firepower and armour.
Each class also comes with three special roles, and the dwarf you choose determines which weapons and bonuses. Survivor switches the camera to a portrait-mode top-down view, inspired by Vampire Survivors.
Pre-registration for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is open on Android
The game is set to arrive in November 2025. It will have a try-before-you-buy model with the full game available for a one-time purchase.
