Strange Horticulture was released globally on mobile in March last year. It’s priced at $4.99. If that’s been stopping you from trying the game out, then there’s a temporary solution to it. Strange Horticulture is the freebie this week on the Epic Games Store mobile app.
Till when can you play Strange Horticulture on the Epic Games Mobile Store for free?
Strange Horticulture is a plant-based puzzle game infused with magic. It’s free to play on the Epic Games Store mobile app for one week, as usual. The exact dates are from August 21st (today) to August 28th, 2025, 8:30 pm.
You play as a Horticulturist, the inheritor of a shop filled with strange flora and customers who are often stranger. You sell herbs and potions, but mostly what you do shapes the fate of the people who walk through your door. It may be healing or harming at times.
The game is cosy. You sit inside your little store while rain taps against the windows and your cat Hellebore curls up nearby. Customers describe symptoms or problems, and it’s up to you to identify which plant fits the situation.
But soon after, the murder of a local witch coven’s leader begins to unravel into something much larger. Suddenly, every choice you make pulls you deeper into a centuries-old occult mystery. What plant you hand over, what cure you craft, which clue you follow; all of it matters.
Meanwhile… A sequel?
Strange Horticulture is developed by Bad Viking and published by Iceberg Interactive. Bad Viking is also gearing up for another ambitious project later this month. It’s the sequel to Strange Horticulture, Strange Antiquities, which is releasing next month.
The game will first be released on PC. You can expect it to land on mobile soon after. For the time being, you should try out Strange Horticulture from the Epic Games Mobile Store for free. Head over to the app.
