GameFly getting into publishing Android games and to open the GameFly GameStore for Android

Back in April of this year we talked about GameFly mentioning plans in one of the Shacknews podcasts about getting into funding Android game developers and Android game publishing. Now GameFly has come out to officially confirm this as well as their plans to open up their own GameFly GameStore for Android.

Gamefly seems to be really keen on pushing into the mobile gaming space lately with their pans for publishing games on both Android and iOS, their GameQ digital magazine and now plans for a GameFly GameStore. They have already set aside a game development fund to work with mobile game developers who have a great game in the works but need a little more funding for that extra push to get the game completed, polished and published.

GameFly’s GameStore for Android will be exactly as it sounds, a store application dedicated to the mobile games they help fund or publish. Luckily, we don’t have enough 3rd party app stores just yet, close, but not just yet. GameFly’s Game of the Day feature may also make its way to the GameStore for Android and is already available on iOS through the GameFly mobile app that they have on that platform.

As of right now the GameStore is slated for release by this year’s holiday season. GameFly is expected to publish their first release this Summer. For contact details and extra info, check out the press release below.
