Gameloft’s Asphalt 8: Airborne is now available for free, includes new content update

A few days ago we reported on some news coming from Gameloft that was in regards to their newest racing game called Asphalt 8: Airborne that was recently released onto Google Play. Originally when this game launched it was priced at $0.99 but a few days ago Gameloft announced it would be changing the price of Asphalt 8: Airborne to free.

Obviously people had different feelings regarding this change – some good and some bad. It isn’t just a price change that is happening today with Asphalt 8: Airborne. All the update features we talked about in our last article about these changes are now available in the game as well. This includes a new car, new limited timed cups to compete in for new prizes such as credits, upgrades and additional cup exclusive cars, new boosters such as TuneKit, Nitro & Double Credits.

The update also brings new customizable controls so you can rearrange them to how you see fit. Finally there are also new tracks available and faster matchmaking in multiplayer as well. There are seven new reverse tracks to race on which includes tracks from Nevada, Iceland, Tokyo and more.

If you don’t have Asphalt 8: Airborne installed on your Android device, you can now get it for free off of Google Play. For those of you who have the paid version of this game, you don’t have to do anything because this new free version is still the same install as the paid one as far as we can tell, it just has a price change.
