If you play Genshin Impact on Android, you’ll be glad to know that they’re finally adding controller support. Yeah, the wait is over as the feature is coming soon to the game with Version 5.5. It’s been a long time coming, especially considering iOS users got it back in 2021.

When Will Genshin Impact Get Controller Support on Android?

Starting March 26th, 2025, you’ll be able to connect your Android to a controller and explore Genshin Impact without using the touchscreen. The update will officially support four controllers: DualShock 4, DualSense, Xbox Wireless Controller and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Notably, all of these require Bluetooth.

Apart from controller support, Version 5.5 will have other quality-of-life improvements, like cross-scene quest tracking. You’ll be able to track quests across different areas seamlessly by just opening the map and teleporting straightaway to your desired destination.

Boss guides are also getting an update, which should help newer players understand enemy mechanics better. And the Artifact system, Serenitea Pot and Mail system are all getting optimizations, though the full details will be revealed during the Special Program Announcement on March 14th.

You can learn more about what other changes are coming by checking out the Developer’s Discussion for the month of March. Also, check out the game on the Google Play Store.
