Google co-founder takes Project Glass to a charity event

Earlier this week, Google publicly revealed a potentially revolutionary product it’s currently calling Project Glass. Project Glass is a pair of augmented reality glasses that displays tons of information above your eye. It basically performs many of the functions of a smartphone such as displaying text messages, taking photos and engaging in video calls.

Although the concept video shows Project Glass at its very best, Google co-founder Sergey Brin took Project Glass for a spin at charity dinner for the Foundation Fighting Blindness. The images taken of Brin, including the one you see above, was posted on the Google+ pages of Robert Scoble and Thomas Hawk. While not as chromed out as the concept images that were released earlier in the week, the prototype pair Brin was wearing looks almost identical.

So what is it like wearing Project Glass right now? Brin told The Verge “right now you really just see it reboot.” Robert Scoble also noted that he noticed “a bluish light flashing off his [Brin’s] right eyeball.” Brin also said Google wants Project Glass to connect to several devices. This suggests the glasses may not be a complete replacement to a smartphone, but rather a complementary accessory.

There’s still no release window for Project Glass. When it does come out, will you be getting one?
