Publisher and developer room6, along with hako life and singer-songwriter Yanagi Nagi, are working on an unusual cross-media project. It’s an adventure game called Green Light, which will be set in the same world as Nagi’s upcoming album of the same name.

Both the album and the game are scheduled for release in 2026, with the album arriving first on February 28th. The date also marks the 14th anniversary of Nagi’s debut. The game will be available on Android, iOS and PC via Steam, supporting both English and Japanese.

Developed by hako life, the team behind Unreal Life, and published under the indie label Yokaze, the game draws directly from the album concept. Actually, the album, the game, and a one-man live tour form three parts of the entire project.

What will the adventure game Green Light be like?

You’ll get to dive into a world where music, dreams, and storytelling come together. It revolves around the idea of connected dreams and hidden truths.

The story begins in a forgotten mining town that once glittered with gemstones but now sits quietly under a grey sky. Midori, a hotel worker with green earrings that sparkle against the dull backdrop, greets new visitors every day.

What makes this town peculiar is the strange rumour that everyone who sleeps there shares the same dream. Travellers from afar arrive hoping to experience it, filling the once-empty hotel with curious guests and whispered stories.

The world is divided into two layers: the Day World and the Night World. The Day World centres around Midori’s interactions with guests at the hotel. Each visitor brings a story, and through conversations and small acts of kindness, you can piece together clues about the town’s mysteries.

Once night falls, the clues come into play in the Night World, where dreams blur the boundaries of reality. Here, you explore shifting landscapes inspired by fantasy, sci-fi, and romance, uncovering how these surreal fragments connect to the waking world.

Apart from sounding like an exciting adventure game, Green Light, the entire project is quite enticing. A successful Japanese singer-songwriter, Yanagi Nagi’s vision of intertwining sound and story turns it into something more than a typical game adaptation.
