‘itsmy’ expands its mobile gaming engine

itsmy is a mobile social game developer and gaming network featuring 80+ games people can play via your mobile browser however it was just announced that itsmy has expanded their mobile gaming engine to include every mobile device with internet access which of course includes our beloved Android OS!

Starting yesterday all the casual multiplayer games on itsmy as well as from all the connected social networks will be playable on all mobile devices that have access to the internet and you will be able to play with/against anyone across any platform.

“You can now play our games on iPhones vs. PSPs vs. PCs vs. Blackberrys vs. Nokias vs. Android devices vs. Netbooks vs. any other device with internet access. The multitude of devices people use to play is absolutely astonishing. More than 12,000 different devices, platforms, software versions and browsers already checked in.” – Jukka Saarelainen, CTO of itsmy.

Currently itsmy is in beta right now although a live beta with the integration of other mobile browser games from other developers in their network. Even better is the plan to release their own mobile gaming SDK for developers to use. In the end it all means we just get to have more options for playing games whether it is through the browser or a downloaded app. We already have major sites like Kongregate and PopCap, to name a couple, supporting mobile gaming, specifically Android and more will continue to join.

“In 2011 we will see an interesting battle: Apps vs. Browsers. I personally think 2011 will be the year of online gaming on mobile devices without downloading or updating anything. We have learned from our users that people don’t care about technical requirements and they love to play games with their phone all day long.” – Antonio Vince Staybl, CEO of itsmy.
