Jet Set Radio from Sega finally skates its way onto Android

One game a lot of people have been waiting for is the revamped version of the Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio from Sega. We mentioned a couple of weeks ago that it would be landing on Google Play on November 29th, 2012 (today in other words) and sure enough there are no more delays and Jet Set Radio is available for download.

For those of you not familiar with this Dreamcast classic, Jet Set Radio has players fighting for control of Tokyo-to but not in the fashion as you may be thinking. Instead, this Hip Hop themed game has players skating around the city tagging it up with graffiti to mark their territories, tagging walls, billboards, benches and pretty much anything else including rival gang members. You will also be able to break out some tricks as you skate along.

This new version of Jet Set Radio has been revamped and re-imaged as it now features high-definition graphics. The controls have also been developed from the ground up strictly for mobile devices, so this isn’t just some quick port of the existing game. For the purists out there though, you’ll be happy to know that this version of Jet Set Radio features 29 of the 30 tracks found in the original game, so you’ll be able to tune into Pirate Radio and enjoy all the original tracks.

Lastly, a game about graffiti wouldn’t be complete without a massive selection of tags to choose from. However, if you don’t like any of them, you are able to create you own in-game. So if you’ve been waiting to get your hands on Jet Set Radio, you can now grab a copy off of Google Play for $4.99.
