LG X3 quad-core phone to officially be called Optimus 4X HD, possibly heading to T-Mobile

One of the quad-core phones that will apparently be making an appearance at MWC 2012 is the LG 3X, their quad-core Tegra 3 Android phone. Now the official name for release seems to have come out as well as speculation that it will be the follow-up to the G2X on T-Mobile.

The official market name appears to be the LG Optimus 4X HD and will be coming with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). The specs are pretty solid as well for the rest of the hardware:

– Android 4.0
– Tegra 3 quad-core chipset
– 4.7″ 720p display (meaning this should be an HD phone like the Nitro)
– 8MP camera
– 16GB expandable storage
– 21Mbps HSPA data

Those are the specs that most places are talking about as confirmed. We can assume that it will come with plenty of RAM as well. Specualtion is though that this will end up over at T-Mobile as the follow-up to the LG G2X dual-core Android phone. This seems pretty likely as well as previous HD phones have landed on other carriers and not T-Mobile, they are pretty much due for one. So for those of you on T-Mobile, are you hoping this device heads our way? LG G4X sounds pretty nice.
