If you’re into mobile escape room games, chances are you’ve come across a game from Glitch Games before. The UK-based studio behind Forever Lost, A Fragile Mind, and Veritas is back with Mini Escapes: The Below.
Mini Escapes: The Below is another compact mystery from the studio
You wake up alone inside an underground jail cell with no clue how you ended up there. As you start looking around, the game slowly reveals its story through the environment, subtle clues, and a series of interconnected puzzles.
Mini Escapes is a series of bite-sized, self-contained escape room mysteries, with The Below serving as one complete adventure. It plays out from a first-person perspective using point-and-click exploration. The puzzles connect with each other, rewarding you if you pay close attention to small environmental details.
One of the more useful mechanics is Glitch Games’ familiar in-game camera system. It lets you snap photos of clues as you discover them. Anyone who’s ever filled a notebook with random numbers, symbols, or half-finished puzzle notes in an escape room game will probably appreciate having everything saved inside the game instead. Mini Escapes: The Below also includes an autosave feature.
The game starts in the prison cell. First thing you do is dig through the rubble to find an umbrella and later, a bunch of keys that unlock the cell door. Outside the cell, there’s a computer and a notebook. And that’s how your attempt to escape begins.
Mini Escapes: The Below is available on the Google Play Store. You can grab it for $2.99, with no adverts, no in-app purchases, and no interruptions. Take a look at the game below to get a gist of the gameplay.
