Nine Crowns of Faenord has landed on mobile. An open-world action RPG adventure, it drops you onto the ancient island of Faenord. Inspired by games like Valheim, Mount & Blade, and Skyrim, it’s indie developer Skvork’s debut mobile title.

Faenord is a place where kingdoms are constantly rising and falling, rival factions don’t stay quiet for long, and every road can lead to another battle. You start with little more than a map, a squad of followers, and an ever-growing list of enemies.

You build your campaign across a world filled with forests, mountain horizons, fortified keeps, castles, roads, and borderlands. Then, just like usual action RPGs, progress comes through capturing castles, taking over strongholds, surviving enemy counterattacks, defending borders, and raiding hostile territory.

One of the main ideas behind Nine Crowns of Faenord is building up a warband rather than fighting alone. The game features twenty heroes that you can recruit from different roles, including warriors, rogues, and mages.

You can strengthen the followers over time, improve their abilities, and send them into increasingly dangerous situations as the campaign expands. The campaign revolves around bringing together the island’s nine crowns by building alliances, rallying knights, and negotiating with elves.

Exploration is a major part of Nine Crowns of Faenord

You can scout the frontier by crossing forests, roads, and borderlands to discover new routes, exposed enemy positions, and valuable strongholds. After assembling a balanced traveling force, the next step is taking the crowns by capturing castles and turning individual victories into a larger campaign capable of uniting all nine crowns.

Combat takes place in real time at 60 FPS, while you issue tactical commands and mix melee and ranged attacks. There’s also planning, movement, preparation, and tactical decisions before battles even begin. You are free to explore the large fantasy landscape at your own pace in a single-player experience with offline play.

Nine Crowns of Faenord is available on the Google Play Store. It works completely offline and skips microtransactions entirely, so there are no ads, no timers, and no pay-to-win systems.
