Refind Self: The Personality Test Game, made by solo dev Lizardry and published by PLAYISM, just turned two years old this month. The game recently crossed the 500,000 purchase mark globally across all platforms, which is a pretty big deal for a niche indie title.

What’s Refind Self: The Personality Test Game?

Although the name makes it pretty obvious, let me give you a quick rundown on the game. It’s a chill, exploration-style adventure which is also a personality test.

You play as a humanoid robot whose creator, the Doctor, has passed away. You visit places with your memories of them, talk to other robots, and dig into your past. Along the way, how you act gets analysed.

There’s no right or wrong way to play, and no game overs. Your choices, like where you go, who you talk to, what games you play inside, all feed into a personality ‘diagnosis.’

After three playthroughs, you unlock the full breakdown of your personality. It includes one dominant Primary trait, two Complementary traits, one Hidden trait, and one that’s furthest from you, pulled from a pool of 23 RPG-style archetypes.

How are they celebrating the second anniversary?

To mark the 500k milestone, PLAYISM has launched a Lizardry Bundle. It bundles Refind Self with two other titles: 7 Days to End With You and Cling to Blindness, a horror game. There’s a 10% discount on the bundle now.

The team has also launched an update for the game. It includes the Unity vulnerability content. You also get QR code sharing, a simplified personality view, ID bookmarking, and a more detailed breakdown of how your actions contributed to each of the 23 personality types. So, check the game out on the Google Play Store.
