Roblox has rolled out The Takeover, a platform-wide event. Announced during the Roblox Developers Conference 2025, it’s a more competitive and community-driven event. It kicked off on September 12th and will run through September 22nd, 2025.

What does The Takeover bring to Roblox?

The Takeover places you in a central Clubhouse where you choose between four themed districts. They are Strat University, Adrenaline Heights, Artists Alley, and Competition Park. Each district is further divided into four zones, and every zone comes with three games that vary in difficulty.

You can decide to go solo or team up in crews. The main goal is to capture and defend zones from rivals. As the Roblox team says, The Takeover is more of an experiment in co-opetition.

There are 48 games featured across the event from different genres. There are survival games like Pressure by Urbanshade: Hadal Division and sports games like Tennis: Zero by Current x Blackstar.

It also includes strategy games like SpongeBob Tower Defense by Krabby Krew, roleplay games like Dress to Impress by Dress to Impress Group, and obby games like Barry’s Prison Run by PlatinumFalls.

What about progression?

Progression in The Takeover is through completing challenges, which reward in-game creds that you can use to unlock avatar items. Extra creds are on the table if you become the first to complete a challenge, play as part of a crew, through daily quests, or during double creds days.

Roblox has described The Takeover as a celebration of the creativity within its creator community. It’s also a way for players to branch out and discover new experiences.

If you like playing Roblox, then check this new event out. If you’re yet to play it, grab it from the Google Play Store.
