SNK Games, the Japanese studio behind hit fighting titles, has removed a few major games from its Google Play roster. The thing is that they aren’t getting removed from mobile entirely. These titles are being delisted from the Google Play Store, and you can still find them on other stores like Apple’s App Store.
SNK Games has produced a long list of arcade and fighting games. They have published classics like The King of Fighters and Metal Slug. But, unfortunately, Android users have lost access to a big chunk of these retro games now.
Which SNK Games are getting removed from Google Play?
On June 30th, 2025, SNK Games removed several of their popular titles from the Google Play Store. The list includes fighting games like Fatal Fury Special, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, The King of Fighters ’97, The King of Fighters ’98, and Samurai Shodown 2.
There are a few side-scrolling shooters and action games removed, too. Blazing Star, Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, and Metal Slug X are all gone.
By the way, Metal Slug 3 already left Google Play back on June 2nd, 2025. It was due to optimisation issues with newer Android versions and devices. The title launched on Android in July 2012.
The good news is that even if the games are delisted, anyone who already owns and has installed them will still be able to keep playing. But you won’t be able to reinstall them or download them on another device.
Why Did They Delist Them?
It’s not completely clear why SNK pulled the games from the Google Play Store. Even though they have removed a bunch of titles, the studio isn’t shying away from dropping new ones on Android.
They’ve been cooking up new and revamped versions of the classics. Looking ahead, Ken Masters from Street Fighter will be playable early at Evo 2025.
Meanwhile, several hit SNK titles are still available on the Google Play Store. You can check out collabs between Metal Slug and ACA NeoGeo and more such titles.
