The Bard’s Tale adventure RPG slated to arrive for Tegra-based Android devices soon

A new game has popped up on Tegra Zone a few days ago called The Bard’s Tale which is a new game ‘inspired’ by the classic adventure RPG series from the golden days of the Apple II computers in 1985. For those of you unfamiliar with the series, this particular series of games set itself apart from other ones in its genre due to the rather large amounts of humor that was included into the game.

In this game you will be playing as the Bard, a selfish rogue weary of pointless sub-quests and rat-infested cellars. Through songs, since you are a Bard after all, you will be summoning magical characters to join your quest for coin and cleavage, mostly for the cleavage. The most interesting aspect of this game, just as with the original series, is that your attitude affects the event in the game. When talking to NPCs, you’ll have the option as to whether you respond nicely to them, or if you talk to them with a fair amount of attitude with the ‘snarky’ option.

Features:

Also to include a FREE DOWNLOAD of the original Bard’s Tale trilogy!
A vast world to explore with towns, wild forests, rivers, castles, towers, secret dungeons, snowy mountains, caverns, haunted tombs and more.
A full cast of bizarre NPC’s, 50 enemy types and over a dozen special boss enemies to defeat.
16 magical characters to discover and then summon at will to aid you.
Over 50 ACHIEVEMENTS spread throughout the game and LEADERBOARDS for accumulated Silver and Experience!
Optional in-app purchases are available to pump up your Bard and save you time! (Note: All such items are attainable through normal game-play, with time and persistence.)

While this game is in essence a new installment into the series, when you grab a copy of The Bard’s Tale, you will be able to download the entire old school trilogy for free as well for your PC. This means you are technically getting four games.

As for when The Bard’s Tale will become available, right now it is slated for release onto Tegra-based Android devices sometime in Q3 2012. No word if it will arrive for non-Tegra devices anytime after its initial launch.
