More details about Torchlight Mobile and gets shown off at the Tokyo Game Show

Fans of the dungeon crawler Torchlight are in for some pleasant news as we finally have a bit more details to talk about. Word is now coming out of TGS 2016 that Perfect World is releasing a mobile variant of the game. Unlike what we saw coming to the Titanfall franchise, this one is supposed to be very close to the PC version that its fans know and love.

For those of you who missed our previous articles about Torchlight Mobile, or are not familiar with the franchise at all, this mobile version will also be a Dungeon Crawler/ARPG hybrid, and should be very similar to how the other games in the Trochlight franchise play. Of course there will be some differences due to it being on mobile, such as the controls.

To start, there will be three playable races in the upcoming limited release/beta. In the PC version players had access to more than the 36 skills in Torchlight, with the mobile variant containing 64 additional skills. Players will also be able to open up a stall/shop, to sell their loot to other players. Getting loot is similar to other games in this genre such as Diablo.

Just like the PC version, this game will be dungeon heavy, with unique bosses inhabiting each of them. Torchlight Mobile is set to be released in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Mancau by the end of this year in the above mentioned limited release/beta, so hopefully it’ll get a more global release shortly after. When that does happen, it’ll be free-to-play with optional IAPs. Our friends over at 2P managed to get some additional hands-on time with the current playable build of Torchlight Mobile, which you can check out in the video below.
