In what seems to be a little bit of back-peddling, John Carmack released a bit of a statement regarding Rage coming to Android and id Software’s stance on the whole thing. It has been rumored that Rage would be coming to Android, especially with id Software’s past job listing that was looking for an Android developer among other things.

It’s been awhile since we posted about Rage and the possibility of it coming to Android. While it was almost a given back in our original post that it was on its way, official confirmation seems to have come in the way of Twitter from John Carmack who states in his tweet that he is going to be porting Rage Mobile to the Android platform.
Glu Mobile has just released the second Guitar Hero game for Android called Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The first Guitar Hero game saw some good success on the Android market so this one should be well received. One new feature coming in Warriors of Rock is that all song are full length song and high quality ones at that.
VDC (Verizon Developer Community) Conference just ended and we happen to attend it looking for any little tidbits of information that we could find. While not expecting anything groundbreaking at VDCC we did however dig up some juicy information regarding a few items. One of which was right in the opening session on the first day.

Well there are some alternatives and one is the newly released Corona Game Edition SDK by Ansca Mobile which offers cross-platform game development including for Android.
Polarbit are known for their great 3D games for Android which including Raging Thunder 1 and 2, Toon Warz, and Fuzzies. Their latest release, with partner Fabrication Games, breaks away from their standard action 3D game mold and brings a puzzle game to Android instead. This is a matching 3 (or more) of the same object puzzle game with a pirate theme.
The hits keep on rolling it seems as every day lately you find an iOS developer has brought their game over to Android as well. This time it is yet another extremely popular iOS game called Hungry Shark by developer Future Games of London or FGOL for short. This is a great game where you are a shark and your job is to eat…everything…alive.
This is literally one of the crazier projects I’ve come across in a long time in gaming. Question: What do you get when you combine Flash Player, Unity3D, Google Maps? A browser based wicked looking Flash game that uses real world maps/locations. Throw an Android phone into the mix and now you have portable F1 3D racing in any real city.
I don’t know what it is today with the job posting articles and perhaps I’m going out on a limb here even posting this simply due to the implications and possible hypothetical reasons this would be included in a job listing with Sony Playstation. A job posting over at Sony Playstation for a Senior Sever Engineer is up and skimming through it I found something interesting.
