Square Enix has gone ahead and given everyone a heads up about when the next Final Fantasy installment would be landing on Android and iOS, most likely in order for everyone to start saving up their pennies so they can afford it. Final Fantasy IV will be arriving on iOS this month while all of us Android gamers will be seeing this next Final Fantasy title arriving on Google Play in early Spring of 2013.
Game Insight has released a new game called Elements Battle which takes them out of their norm when it comes to Android game releases and what types of games those are and has them releasing a new type of game which is a match-3 RPG style title. Even those it is a match-3 RPG type of game, there is plenty of content to go through with over 100 quests to complete.
Players of Glu Mobile’s hack n’ slash game Eternity Warriors 2 will be getting a new content update later this month which will bring with it a whole new area called the Dragon’s Lair. This new area, as you may be guessing from its name, will have players battling it out with massive dragons… but wait, there is a twist to it!
The rather popular puzzle game Free Flow has gotten a new version that brings with it a new twist to add a bit more of a challenge to the original game. It could also make it easier depending on how you look at it. Developed by Big Duck Games, Free Flow Bridges is the same great puzzle game as the original Free Flow, except now there are bridges.
Back in November we reported on an official Ong Bak game that was being developed by Studios HIVE in conjunction with the new Ong Bak movie that is coming up as well. Formally called Ong Bak Tri, this game will be based off of the upcoming movie and is a 2.5D side-scrolling action game that is slated for release on PC, consoles and mobile devices.
As we draw closer to the end of 2012, a lot of games are already getting announced for 2013 which you may have noticed lately. Yet another games that will be landing on mobile devices soon comes from Beeline, the fine folks that brought us games like Smurfs’ Village and Monster Pet Shop, but this time it will be based off of the Ghostbusters franchise and yes, it will have nothing to do with augmented reality like the current Ghostbusters game is.
Stolen Couch Games has announced a new casual sim game called Castaway Paradise which was inspired by similar games of this nature such as Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. While there is definitely an influence seen from those two games in Castaway Paradise, there is also a lot of different features, content and customization to make it a unique game all on its own.
Back in November we talked about an unnamed FPS game that made an appearance in the financial earning for Ngmoco / DeNA as an upcoming game for Android and iOS. Well now Ngmoco has let the word out that this FPS game is called The Drowning and that it is coming with some pretty high-end graphics for mobile gamers.
Back when the Humble Bundle for Android 4 launched about a month ago, one game that ate up basically all of my playtime from that bundle was Splice. I had already set my sights on it after seeing it launch on “the other” mobile platform, and so digging into it after seeing it on the Humble Bundle was only a given. Fair enough, I was looking forward to it, but how did I find it?
Pier Solar HD is a massive retro-style 16-bit RPG that is actually a revamped version of the original Pier Solar RPG from back in the day. The developers recently took to Kickstarter to fund this new remake for a few platforms, those being Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux and the Dreamcast. However, in their stretch goals, the developers had Android and OUYA set at the $175,000 mark. Well their Kickstarter closed at just over $231K meaning both the Android and OUYA versions will be made.
