Yesterday Mediocre Games decided to announce that they were well into the development of a sequel for their physics-based puzzle game Sprinkle. The still unnamed game, although we will just all it Sprinkle 2 for now, has some interesting speculation surrounding it that it will also feature some of the mechanics from Granny Smith.

Just because Christmas has ended as of today doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy holiday themed content that games have gotten updated with and there has been plenty of that going around. One game that has gotten a rather cool holiday themed update is Melesta Games’ Toy Defense which now has an addition 12 levels to play through, all themed around Christmas and Winter in general.
While HyperDevBox has released their sequel to their rather cool mech-themed shooter ExZeus, the company has also gone ahead and put up all three of their tactics-style RPGs on sale for 50% off for a limited time. According to HyperDevBox, they couldn’t run a sale for Christmas so to make up for it they have decided to run this “Happy 2013! New Years Eve” sale instead.
Usually there is only one free app or game of the day over at the Amazon AppStore but today we are treated to a ‘Greatest Hits’ promotion where Amazon has put up some of their best free apps and games from the past year back up for free once again. The selection has some impressive titles available for free right now that you may have missed when they originally were offered up for free.
[Updated] HyperDevBox unleashes their mech shooter sequel called ExZeus 2 for high-end Android devices
One of the first real mech-style arcade shooter games to land on Android was a game called ExZeus from HyperDevBox. This game featured some pretty impressive visuals for the time as well as some pretty hectic and enjoyable gameplay. Not too long ago we found out that a sequel was in the works, appropriately named ExZeus 2. Well that sequel is now available on Google Play and features console quality visuals and even more hectic shooting gameplay.
The trees were lit and houses decorated in lights, presents opened and Android devices given to children and adults alike. Christmas is over for everyone and boxing is today if you’re in Canada so good luck to everyone dealing with the crowds in the stores up there. While it is all about the spirit of giving, let’s be real, we love to get stuff as well.
Soulcraft, a game that went into beta mode right at the beginning of this year, finally sees the light of the day as a “proper” release as the year fittingly comes to a close. The game, which has you playing as angel for now, features five different game modes set in diverse real-world locations that are depicted in cell shaded graphics such as Hamburg, New York, Great Wall of China and Venice.
All those who love 2D/3D fighting games along the lines of Tekken Street Fighter X will certainly do well to keep a lookout for Kinetic Damage, a game which is being developed by a one-man indie studio and is due for release in the not too distant future.
LEGO Hero Factory Brain Attack was actually supposed to see a release in January next year as a result of a partnership between LEGO and Amuzo Games, but it has made its way a few days early (not that we’d be complaining anyway) onto Google Play for free for everyone to enjoy.
Back in November of this year we mentioned that GREE was partnering up with various companies to bring a rather interesting selection of titles to Android. While these releases would be Japan-only at first, chances are they will be coming to the rest of the world soon as seen with previous games released onto Android. One of these titles is now here, or in Japan rather, and it is Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops.
