Ikaruga is widely recognized to be one of the best shoot ‘em ups ever, and has garnered high praise from both reviewers and hardcore gamers in the past. It is a challenging and fast-paced game that utilizes the color polarity mechanic – your ship has to be of the same color as the incoming bullets or else you die.
A really neat indie game has arrived on Google Play called The Gentleman by Christopher Buckley. This is a rather unique little game where you control the Gentleman who is out searching for his Monocle. Not just any Monocle will do of course since he wants his special one and not some two-bit crap monocle. So he will continue on his journey to find his Monocle by collecting as many of them as he can because eventually one will end up being his.
For those of you who enjoy the endless running genre of games, there happens to be a new endless platformer now up on Google Play called Monster Crew from BonusXP. This little game has you playing as Frankenstein who happens to run endlessly through a rather haunted looking mansion with plenty of platforms and monsters to smash.
A new rhythm-style of game has arrived on Android with a rather nice retro flare to it in the graphics department. Developed by Fantom Digital, Dream Beat is a easy to learn but difficult to master type of game where you control a paddle and hit the notes as the come at you. Think of it as a single player Pong-esque type of game based around rhythm gaming mechanics.
Adult Swim released Monsters Ate My Condo some time ago, which itself is a great game to play, and have decided to follow it up by bringing the monsters back in a new game called Super Monsters Ate My Condo. The gameplay is pretty much the same for the most part, as are the visuals, except for the fact you only have two minutes in this game to get as many points as possible. This makes the game a lot more frantic.

Way back in May of this year we talked about a development studio going by the name of Dark Tonic who had put up a Kickstarter campaign to get funding for their Occupy Wall Street inspired game called Wall Street Titan. Well it looks as though development has come along quite nicely and the first full Android version test has been successful.
It appears that Android gamers are getting a double shot of good news in the past 24 hours. Along with Rockstar Games putting Grand Theft Auto: Vice City back onto the Google Play store, Gameloft has also put Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour back up as well after it to was taken down due to some downloading issues users were experiencing.
Interesting news coming out of the world of multiplayer games, specifically mobile ones, as GameSpy has closed down multiple multiplayer servers being used in games. The reason? Basically the short story is that they were not getting paid and that contracts were not being renewed, publishers were just letting them lapse. Obviously a company can’t run without making money so this has led to a shutdown of multiple servers.
One game we are following closely is the sequel to the classic Elite game called Elite: Dangerous which is on Kickstarter right now looking for funding so Frontier Developments can finish the game. If it does make its goal, the developers will be considering the possibility of bringing the game to other platforms including mobile phones and tablets.
