GREE, as you may know from our previous articles, is making quite the pushing into the non-Asian gaming market on mobile now that their social gaming platform has been released globally in a beta. Set to launch fully later this year with over 60 titles coming with the full launch later this year.

Pairing up today’s earlier news of the GREE social gaming platform going worldwide in an open beta that has launched today, GREE has also partnered up with Mind Candy, developers of the Moshi Monsters game to start bringing those games to mobile devices worldwide.
GREE, who acquired OpenFeint last year and are currently one of the three major social gaming platforms in Asia, have gone worldwide with the launching of an open beta today. This launch has been in the works now for some time, since last year, when they announced plans for expanding outside of the Asian market.
May and June look to be a busy time for Gameloft in regards to game releases and announcements. Already we have the official Men in Black 3 game coming on May 17th, N.O.V.A. 3 on the way, Asphalt 7: Heat teased and heading our way, and now we have their new free-to-play Gangstar spin-off called Gang Domination (Codename).
Interesting news coming out of Japan today regarding a certain game mechanic that they have just ruled as illegal. Due to this new ruling, the stocks of some major social gaming companies like GREE, DeNA and others have plummeted drastically to upwards of a 23 percent loss.
GREE last year made headlines when they bought out OpenFeint for a cool $104 million. This year GREE has decided to make headlines again with another acquisition but this time snapping up Android game developer Funzio, creators of Crime City, for almost double what they paid for OpenFeint.
For those of you who are not familiar with GREE, they happen to be quite a large social gaming platform based out of Asia on Android. Last year they purchased OpenFeint for around $104 million but haven’t actually released any of their titles onto the U.S. Android market until now.
New Assassin’s Creed title coming to Android on the GREE platform, Gameloft jumps on with Gang Domination
We have a two part bit of news to talk about in this article. One of the major social gaming companies that is planning to expand into the US and UK this year called GREE will also be bringing with it a completely new Assassin’s Creed title.
In other news GREE, the world’s largest publicly traded social games company, has expanded their footing in the US by opening up a new office in San Francisco. This comes in the wake of news that the company has cleared over one billion dollar in profit this year.
A couple of days ago we posted about GREE finally expanding into markets outside of Asia including North America thanks to their ownership of OpenFeint. Along with this expansion were titles like Yakuza, Resident Evil VS and others that would be making their way to us.
