Seems as though GetJar isn’t the only one to be effected by the launch of Angry Birds full for Android. Rovio’s main website is also now down for the count due to the ridiculous amount of traffic. While not serious gaming news the point of this post is to remind everyone that Angry Birds is available through GetJar (preferably mobile) and the Android Market.
The moment you have all been waiting for is finally here. While I’m sure every other Android site has already announced this we will do so as well. Enough playing the beta people, Angry Birds Full is now available and it’s free! Eventually an update will come in the form of an in-app purchase should you want to remove the ads. However getting the game might be difficult…
It is a rare day when I find a game that manages to frustrate me, make me want to toss my phone and possibly punt somethng out of anger. However those rare days do happen and this is just with the Lite version of the game Little Metal Ball since the full version is not available yet. It is a good game but it will make you want to hit something at some point.
Let’s for a second fast forward into the future. You own a sweet Android tablet (or phone) and have been enjoying gaming on it for awhile. Rovio was nice enough to send us a early copy of Angry Birds and let me say this right off the start, it has a LOT of content. 150 levels worth of content to be exact not including the Golden Eggs you need to achieve. The UI has been changed a bit as well with expanding/contracting menus on the start page, sliding level selection screens. It is slick.
Vivid Games and Tower Studios have teamed up to bring you the classic game Speedball 2 made for modern devices in the ‘glory it deserves’. Most gamers have played at least one of the Speedball games in their lifetime and tend to love the classics very much. This will apparently be no exception as “The game will be released in 20th Anniversary of Speedball 2 Brutal Deluxe.”
Orange Pixel, creators of the awesome 4 color retro-style Time Chaos as well as a bunch of other titles return to wow their audience with miniature military mayhem in a classic Snake style game called Mini Army. Glu Mobile has been doing some serious damage on the Android Market lately but in a good way though. First the release of Transformers G1 followed by Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Today they just released yet another great game called Deer Hunter 3D which, by the title, I’m sure you can guess what type of game this is.
So you’re rocking the Flash player on your Android phone and you’ve got Adobe AIR installed as well, but what now? There isn’t a whole lot of selection just yet regarding games. Well, luckily for you, we here at DroidGamers spend way too much time sifting through the games section of the Android Market and testing out games so we can recommend (or not recommend) them to you.
AlBrAndroid, the developer who brought Drunk Ragdoll and the Red X physics game just released a new title called Flying Orbies. With Flying Orbies comes OpenFeint which is steadily appearing in almost every game release right now. This is another physics game where you need to destroy all the Orbits of the same type, sort of a logic puzzle/physics game.
