After officially dropping support for the entire platform a few years back, Mika Mobile has officially re-released Battleheart back onto the Android platform. For those unfamiliar with the game, this is a cross between an RPG and an RTS format, where players control parties while upgrading their equipment and powers via a skill tree, while using taps and gestures to handle combat in real time; more on this can be found here in our previous coverage.
In other Nvdia related news to come out in the last 24 hours, the company has announced a couple of other games that are being launched on their platform. First, is an upcoming platformer known as Mighty No 9. This game looks like it is pulling it’s visual and style cues from the classic Mega Man games of yore.
While some games focus a lot on action, others are all about relaxing and that is one of the themes behind Ice Water Games’ new release called Viridi. If this game sounds familiar, it should, as we covered its development back in the earlier part of 2015. After our initial coverage, not much in the way of news had been released from the developers regarding where the game was at in terms of development. Now we get to jump right into it and start playing.
As many of you know, we were at E3 2016 all last week, and unfortunately some of the news we couldn’t get out fast enough due to the lovely internet connection found at these events each year. However, in case you missed this, Nvidia has announced that two more Borderlands games which are being ported over to run on Shield devices.
As a kid, my grandfather had a toy blackjack game, not much larger than a gameboy. I remember playing with it extensively, so I can see the appeal of games that revolve around betting that isn’t real. Once such game, released by Vindicta Games, is called Sim Betting Football and is a new type of football/soccer game. If this sounds familiar, it is because we talked about this game back in March 2016 when it was on Kickstarter looking for additional funds.
Clint Siu is a VFX artist and solo independent game developer. His game Prism is fascinating, completely enthralling and absolutely stunning. If you like games that put you in a meditative state as you explore the content, look no further than Prism. You will be glad you did.
I came across a video from AstrogradeLab, an independent game company. The trailer that they put together for the game felt like a trailer for a movie that was going to be released this summer. Now summer is upon us and so is this intriguing puzzle game from Astrograde Lab.
Frima Studios is based in Canada. They have released a few titles for Android and iOS. A few weeks ago, they released Splash Pop. It is a fun puzzle game with a nice dose of strategy thrown in. If you enjoy puzzle games that get your fingers tapping, then Splash Pop will be right up your alley. It is available to download in the Google Play Store now.
Bulkypix and Pixel Ratio are releasing a game during the height of E3 this week. If you remember, some time ago, Pixel Ratio created a comical character named Aby. He was the main character in the game Aby Escape. Now, a few years later, Aby is back starring in another game, entitled Frantic Shooter. If you like top down shooters, this is one you will want to check out this week when it arrives for Android and iOS.
Kiloo Games continues to release fun action games for Android and iOS devices. Quickly on the heels of their most recent releases Spellbinders and Tesla Tubes, is a new open-world RPG that they have just announced today. The next game in Kiloo’s library of games will be Dawnbringer. If you fancy story driven role-playing games, then Dawnbringer is a game you will want to check out.
