One thing there is plenty of at CES every year are headsets, whether the full headband style (with or without mics) or the ear bud kind, there is always a ton of headsets to check out. Most of these are geared towards listening to music and watching video on your smartphone or tablet. However there is also the occasional mobile gaming-centric headset to be found and one of those happens to be Mad Catz’s other announcement.

Nitrome has been in the news a lot lately with the release of a few games onto Android already and the developer doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon with the announcement of Gunbrick coming to mobile devices next. Gunbrick is an arcade platformer which also features Nitrome’s rather good pixel art.
In the past couple of years Mad Catz has really pushed well into the mobile gaming market with their peripherals and even an Android-based game console called the MOJO. Since the company first dove into the mobile gaming scene, each year we get to see new peripherals to get released and CES 2015 is definitely no exception to this with two new peripherals announced for mobile gamers. There is the L.Y.N.X.9 mobile game controller and the Swarm mobile gaming headset which we will go into in a second article.
While the OBox from Snail Games was high up on our list of things to get some hands-on time with as soon as possible, the company’s two new Android phones were also something we wanted to check out. Snail Games unveiled two gaming-centric Android phones at CES 2015 and while both come with physical controls, the W 3D also features glasses-free 3D.
Today Razer announced their solution to bringing PC and Android games to the big screen with their Forge TV set top box. The company is describing this as a game and entertainment console since it isn’t just made for straight gameplay but also to use services like Netflix, YouTube, and other more entertainment based applications. Along with the unveiling of Forge TV, Razer also unveiled their new Bluetooth controller called Serval and the Turret Lapboard and mouse combo.
One of the more interesting announcements so far, at least in the realm of Android-based gaming, has to be Snail Games’ set of gaming-centric Android phones and their Android-based game console. Snail Games had plenty of both phones, The W and The W 3D, available for some hands-on time as well as the OBox console. We will get into the phones in another article though.
Mad Catz has officially announced their newest headset for gamers of all platforms called the F.R.E.Q.9. This new wireless headset features surround sound, noise cancelling, and a built-in mic which is something you mobile game streamers might be interested in.

Following the success of their previous projects Epoch and Epoch 2, Uppercut Games recently unveiled their next game in development entitled Submerged. In the Epoch series, the environment was a post-apocalyptic world where only robots survived to fight a war that never ends. In Submerged, the environment is literally overflowing with action, adventure and a compelling narrative. From the brief synopsis of the game, it appears the storyline will have as much heart as it does action and lush visuals.

Snail Games isn’t just showing off two new Android phones at this year’s CES but they are also showing off their Android-based game console called the OBox. However this isn’t your typical small package Android console at all and, in fact, it is designed as a full-sized console which bares no resemblance to an Xbox at all… okay maybe a little bit.
