11 bit studios has released a series of of reversed tower defense games, all under the moniker of Anomaly. For the uninitiated, this franchise take the classic idea of tower defense (where players set up defenses such as laser turrets to stave off waves of enemies from passing by), and reverse it, where it’s up to players to be the “invading force” and make succeed in getting units from their battalion past the defenses.

Paradox Interactive releases a new trailer for Knights of Pen & Paper 2, complete with 60FPS gameplay
Paradox Interactive has released a new trailer for their upcoming tabletop gaming inspired title Knights of Pen & Paper 2. This is the sequel to their original Knights of Pen & Paper game which we went hands-on with during GDC 2015 and found that it was quite a lot of fun. This sequel will also have plenty of improvement over the original include a much needed inventory system.
Warhammer 40K: Regicide Early Access on Steam begins May 5th. Launching on Android later this year.
Released by Hammerfall Publishing, Regicide is designed to be a “fresh take” on the Warhammer 40K universe through a blend of strategy and cinema. The story centers around a group of Space Marines sent to investigate an unusual video transmission that originated from an imperiled frontier world called Hethgar Prime. Early Access for Warhammer 40K: Regicide will be starting soon for the PC version.
Ubisoft has released a new installment into the ANNO franchise onto Android called ANNO: Build An Empire. Based on the ANNO franchise which has seen many installment released onto other platforms by many different developers, all of which were published by Ubisoft, this new one offers up the full ANNO experience but designed for mobile gameplay.
Space Ape’s upcoming multiplayer RTS game Rival Kingdoms looks to finally be launching next month
Back in December of 2014 we reported on a new multiplayer RTS game that will be heading to mobile devices soon. Since the Rival Kingdoms has been in the final stages of testing and it now appears that it will finally be released onto Android and iOS next month. Developed by Space Ape Games, the developers are trying to do something different with the RTS genre which is currently dominated by Clash of Clans style clones.
Alpha Program for upcoming MOBA Call of Champions begins today. New behind the scenes video also released.
Spacetime Studios’ upcoming MOBA Call of Champions will start its Alpha program today, which is essentially the very first round of testing with people outside of the company. This includes the recently announced trio of ex-pro League of Legends players who have been brought on board as consultants in the development of this game.
Released by indie developers from Vancouver, Kaiju-a-go-go is a game where players use a 100 foot tall robotic monster, and attempt world domination. Players assume the role of Norman E. Farious (N.E.Farious) who is the mad scientist that created the monster, aptly named Ginormasaurus.
From the creators of King’s League: Odyssey comes Tiny Guardians, a strategy tower defense game with a twist, the twist being the absence of towers to defend. Tiny Guardians puts you in charge of Lunalie, who is embarking on a journey through the wilderness of Prism in search of her missing aunt, the Sorceress and you’ll get to summon among 12 guardian classes, with 4 upgradable levels each to help you on your adventure.
Rovio Stars recently releases Sky Punks onto Google Play a couple of weeks ago and they are already following it up with another release today, this time it is a game called Plunder Pirates. As the name of tis game suggests, Plunder Pirates is all about plundering the goods of other captains/pirates, which can be either computer controlled or another player.
Today is the day of betas starting. For some reason multiple companies have decided to start closed beta testing today, all at the same time. This is pretty awesome if you enjoy digging around betas, finding and reporting bugs, or just like being in betas so you can learn about a game before it launches in order to have an edge against everyone else. Regardless of the reasoning, betas are fun and one of the games starting their beta today is Fantasy War Tactics from Nexon Korea.
