The T-Mobile version of the Optimus 2X by LG was rumored to be coming and was even spotted in a picture as booths were being set up at CTIA. Well it has now been officially announced with the name G2X which was recently leaked as well. This will be T-Mobile’s first dual-core Android phone and also the first to come pre-loaded with nVidia’s Tegra Zone app.

Earlier this year during CES 2011 we got to get a little up close and personal with the upcoming Toshiba dual-core Android tablet. This was also one of our top choices back then for Tegra 2 Android tablets and it still is to this day. Between the look, the nice back grip and just overall hardware, it is definitely a solid tablet.
Yes, even after a week of posting since GDC 2011 ended, we still have news we are posting although we are nearing the end of everything we need to post from GDC. There are a few Tegra 2 games on the horizon that haven’t really been mentioned yet that we spotted lazing around on some demo devices.
HyperDevBox’s first game was a mean looking arcade shooter called ExZeus which featured all the things you could want in a flying shooter such as OTS (over-the-shoulder) point of view, flying robots, big weapons, big bosses and big action. What is pretty impressive though was the game only required an extra 57MB download after install.
Tegra Zone, which is nVidia’s marketplace to buy/download Tegra 2 optimized games for your Android devices that have a Tegra 2 inside them, seems to be the source of an interesting bit of information. While we had planned to post this yesterday, we were waiting to find out some other information regarding this first.
A lot of people have been waiting to get their hands on the Android version of Vendetta Online and now the wait is over. Before you get all excited though, there are a few requirements that need to be met. First you’ll need a Tegra 2 tablet, but we already knew that. Secondly, it has to be 7″ screen size or bigger.
We are in San Francisco for GDC 2011 and upon arriving and checking our inbox, we got some great news from the crew over at nVidia which will answer a question a lot of you new Tegra 2 Android device owners have been asking. nVidia’s Tegra Zone is now available for you to download off the Android Market.
Unigine is a 3D game engine that, up until recently, was strictly for Windows/Linux/PS3. Now it supports Android game development with future mobile platforms to be supported in the future. It is nice to see a game engine jump onto Android first when regarding mobile game development, then other platforms later.
War Drum Studios drop Monster Madness onto the Android Market. Time to shoot a ton of monsters and zombies.
Monster Madness has been one of the games we’ve really been waiting for to be released onto the Android Market. Finally the wait is over and all you lucky people with a Tegra 2 device already are going to be happy. Monster Madness, made with Unreal Engine 3, is a top-down shooter where you will be blasting away at a variety of monsters.
One game we were lucky enough to get a hands-on with during CES 2011 was Vendetta Online which looks absolutely amazing. Vendetta Online for Android is a port of the very popular space action-MMORPG game of the same name. We are still lucky to be one of the few to ever see this game in action on a tablet in person.
