According to numerous sites both in the media and ones that sell mobile devices, the apparent launch date for public sale for the Xperia Play will be March 28, 2011. While this is a little over a month away still, some sites already have the unlocked edition of the Xperia Play up for pre-order but the prices are all over the place.

More Xperia Play News: Possible US pricing, Glu pricing on games, White version exclusively at O2
We thought there wouldn’t be much more news aside from some game pricing to come out regarding the Xperia Play but apparently we were wrong. We have got a bunch more news regarding this Android gaming device, some of which we are posting in a nice little round-up here in this post so keep on reading to find out what!
Luckily for all our readers we keep getting more and more news regarding the Xperia Play and judging by how it is going so far, this little Android gaming device is going to have some serious backing in the gaming department. With over 50 games slated for release at launch time, there is going to be quite the selection to choose from.
Awhile ago we reported on the rumor that games for the Xperia Play would be priced at the $10 or lower mark and recent news seems to be supporting this fact. Galaxy of Fire 2 is slated for release on the Xperia Play at launch and will be priced at $9.99. Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave will also be ‘under $10’.
Just to round up our coverage of the Xperia Play, today we have some new videos of gameplay of various games such as Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave and Galaxy of Fire 2. This is thanks to Sony Ericsson uploading a bunch of them to their YouTube channel and if you plan to get an Xperia Play, you should probably watch these.

When it comes to the Xperia Play, anything you’ve bought or will buy on the Playstation Network, will not be transferable to the Xperia Play. This includes any retro Playstation One games.
Fishlabs just announced that they will be releasing Galaxy of Fire 2 when the Xperia Play goes on sale to the public at the end of March 2011. While this game was developed for Tegra 2 devices, it seems as though the Xperia Play will be getting a version specifically for it that will take advantage of the controls that come with it.
Yesterday Sony Ericsson officially unveiled the Xperia Play Android gaming phone at MWC 2011 and so far everyone’s impression of it has been a positive one. While the phone will be available in early Spring, the initial selection of games that will be available for the Xperia Play is already looking fairly impressive.
Well it seems the Xperia Play got a ton of exposure this weekend both during the Super Bowl and in other venues as well. Remember the commercial that got spotted last week?
