Tribal Wars from InnoGames has been around for awhile now and during GDC 2012 we reported that a mobile version was heading its way over to Android soon and that eventually all their in-house developed games would be coming as well.. Well now InnoGames has released a public beta version of their popular MMORTS game onto the Google Play store.
For those of you unfamiliar with Tribal Wars, it is a MMORTS game set in a medieval theme. You’ll be creating your town and building it up with different building and defenses. You will also have to build up different troop types in order to defend or attack enemy towns around you. There are guilds and everything in Tribal Wars and although you can’t technically kill an enemy, you can take over their towns and make them your own.
Tribal Wars Features:
– Build and upgrade more than 15 unique buildings
– Raise an army by recruiting 9 different defense and offensive units
– Attack, plunder and conquer your opponents in real time while defending your kingdom against attackers
– Band together with other players to form a tribe and declare war on your enemies
– Manage your villages on the go, with the app-optimised UI for the most important Tribal Wars functions: the map, your village headquarters or recruiting new units.
– Customizable push notifications for incoming messages and attacks
– Swipe your village name to change villages, or double-tap to access a full list.
The Tribal Wars world is persistent which means you can be attacked even when you are not logged in. This beta version of the Tribal Wars for Android application, while being a public beta, is fully functional and comes with just about every feature found in the browser-based version of the game.
For those of you who have been looking for a solid MMORTS game to play, you may want to check Tribal Wars out. It already has a huge player base thanks to the years it has been a browser-based game so you’ll be jumping right into the mix. Tribal Wars is available as a free download off of the Google Play store and is completely free to play. There are premium accounts but they are optional.
