Well it is a new year here at DroidGamers. We have a new website design and a somewhat new column: Larry’s (the incredible edible squirrel) Play Corner. We started this a few months ago but now we are back and ready to go. In this column, Larry will provide some short reviews / summaries on some of the other the neat games and apps out there on Google Play. Enjoy!

So what you get when you mix Humans, Elves Dwarfs, Golems, and an ancient Evil? You get RPG Symphony of the Origin. This Kemco game is set in a period where Humans, Elves and Dwarves have banned together to fight Evils from the Earth-depths. You play as Ryle, a young apprentice swordsman whose parents were killed in an attack by the Evils.
Wind Up Knight was one of my favorite games released on Android in 2011. Spacetime Studios’ newest MMORPG, Arcane Legends, has gotten an update today that brings with it a new Player vs Player feature. Back in December of last year we talked about the critically-acclaimed shmup Ikaruga and the fact that it had appeared on Google Play albeit for residents of Japan only at the time. Well the popular Xbox Live Arcade shooter is now available for everyone to download, not just residents of Japan.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition players know that Mojang is working on true online multiplayer that could arrive as soon as the 0.6.0 update if all goes well. However, up until now, and until that update comes out, we’ve been trying various ways to create a true Minecraft: Pocket Edition server whether it be hosted off your device or on a PC. We’ve seen a few projects aiming towards this goal but now it seems one has actually accomplished this and it’s called PocketMine-MP.
