The 11th International Mobile Gaming Award nominees are in!

As one of the few official media partners for the IMGA (International Mobile Gaming Awards) we get to report and partake in all the goodness that these awards offer. With this being the 11th International Mobile Gaming Awards, and all the recent releases of some top quality games, this list of nominees is pretty impressive to say the least.

While a lot of these nominees will come as no surprise, there are a few interesting ones that made the list in certain categories. If you are not familiar with the IMGA, this is pretty much the biggest awards dedicated to mobile gaming. There are a total of 10 different categories for games to fall into including Excellence in Gameplay, Excellence in Innovation, Best Technical Achievement, Best Upcoming Games, and Best Multiplayer Game.

Blizzard’s Hearthstone made the cut in two categories: Best Multiplayer Games and Excellence in Gameplay. In the multiplayer game category, Hearthstone is joined by games like Boom Beach (Supercell) and World of Tanks Blitz (Wargaming.net). Leo’s Fortune (1337 & Senri) made it into Excellence in Audio Visual Art & Design as well as Excellence in Gameplay. Wayward Souls (Published by Noodlecake) is also in the Excellence in Gameplay category along with Smash Hit (Mediocre Games) and Papers, Please.

In the Excellence of Storytelling you have some pretty obvious nominees in there such as Game Of Thrones (TellTale Games) and the The Wolf Among Us series. In the Best Technical Achievement category there are some big names in there as well including XCOM: Enemy Within (2K Games), AERENA – Clash of Champions (Cliffhanger Productions), and Skylanders Trap Team (Activision).

This is definitely not the entire list of nominees and there are plenty of great games we didn’t mention here. To see the entire list of nominees, you can head over to the official IMGA website. From here it is a matter of process of elimination to see who the winners are in each category. This will be over the course of the next couple of months, leading up to the official awards ceremony.

Let us know what games you would like to see on that list and in what categories in the comments below!
