EA working on Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances MMORTS for mobile devices, closed beta sign-ups live.

The other day EA announced that it would be bringing Command & Conquer to mobile and browser gamers. However, it isn’t the standard format of C&C RTS gaming that you are used to as this will be the series’ first MMORTS title and will launch with cross-platform multiplayer functionality.

Fans of RTS games, and the Command & Conquer series in general, will be happy to know that the game is currently being developer for EA by Phenomic which has done other MMOs in the past for EA so they are definitely not new to the game.

As for the game itself, as you will see in the video above, it is a 3D MMORTS title which will actually bring the full MMO experience that comes in an MMORTS game. That means not only do you have good graphics but massive large-scale battles, sometimes with multiple opponents depending on who you anger, all right there on your Android device. While EA is doing the whole general categorizing thing by saying ‘mobiles’, it really means iOS and Android although given how EA works it’ll be iOS first, then possible an Xperia Play exclusive before launching it on Android on a wide scale release for supported devices. Just my guess.

The closed beta started yesterday and goes till whenever and sign-ups are still live so if you want to try and get into the closed beta, feel free to head over to the official website and sign-up. We will be keeping tabs as more information is released and will keep you updated. One thing we do know is that Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances will be a free-to-play title.
