Google has now banned third-party billing from Google Play

Google has also changed the policy in regards to third-party billing services and the use of those services by Android developers. Now that the Google Play store has both in-app purchases and subscription services, Google has decided to make sure developers use their services instead of others.

This change is done to ensure a more consistent experience for consumers now that it is just Google providing these to developers. This specific change we decided to write about separately because it is a whole new ball of wax over the shady app prevention changes. This particular change was bound to happen anyways so it should surprise too many developers. However, this does mean that third-party companies like PayPal and Boku are now not allowed.

There is one exception to this new change and that is for any developer who has an application that is selling physical goods. Things like movie tickets, show tickets and all that good stuff do not fall under this new policy change. Just like the changes in policy for shady apps, this takes effect immediately for new submissions while current apps have 30 days to switch over or be subject to removal from Google Play.
