Platformer game Cloudbuilt is now available on Nvidia Shield

Sonic and Mirror’s Edge might be the games that first come to mind when you think of fast-running platformers, but for the past two years newcomer Cloudbuilt has been attempting to make its name known, by combing elements of the two aforementioned franchises. Formerly available only on Steam, Cloudbuilt is now available to Nvidia Shield owners for the first time via the GeForce Now streaming platform.

Cloudbuilt combines precise platforming, wall-running, shooting, breakneck speeds, and free movement to challenge players as they try to beat the clock to the end of each of the game’s stages. These stages take place on giant floating ruins suspended high up in the air, and are non-linear by design. Unlike other, more linear platformers, in Cloudbuilt players can make their own path across a stage, refining their strategy with each subsequent playthrough in an attempt to achieve an ever-lower finish time and a spot on the worldwide leaderboards.

To help the game stand out visually from its established competitors, Cloudbuilt dons a unique color pencil sketch, almost cel-shaded, art style. It resembles what one would expect to see from a Borderlands concept art sketch collection.

Cloudbuilt is available from the official Nvidia Shield website. It includes a digital key for the Steam version of the game. It also includes both the Through the Fog additional levels and Defiance additional story DLC.
