Streaming PC games to the living room at maximum graphics settings has long been the dream for many a gamer who, for some reason or another, doesn’t have access to a high-end gaming computer yet wants to experience the “master race” lifestyle. Nvidia has now, for all intents and purposes, made that possible with its announcement that its GeForce Now game streaming platform has been upgraded to the current-generation Pascal architecture, specifically the GTX 1080 GPU.
Sonic and Mirror’s Edge might be the games that first come to mind when you think of fast-running platformers, but for the past two years newcomer Cloudbuilt has been attempting to make its name known, by combing elements of the two aforementioned franchises. Formerly available only on Steam, Cloudbuilt is now available to Nvidia Shield owners for the first time via the GeForce Now streaming platform.
Nvidia, the gaming hardware company, features games that run well on their hardware, and sometimes exclusively so. Like many other companies, they’re offering deep discounts on many of these games. Some of them are native to Android, while others must be steamed using their subscription service called GeForce Now. And do make note of the fact that any games purchased through GeForce Now also comes with a redemption code from either Steam or GOG, so the games can still be enjoyed offline, and independently of the streaming service, albeit on a PC.
Nvidia has decided to jump into the Black Friday/Holiday game sale action as well, and are putting up over 60 games for sale. The company’s Black Friday sales event starts today and runs through until November 28th, 2016. With the amount of games on sale, there should be something for everyone.
Ninjas come in all sizes and shapes, as time and Chris Farley have proven, and the full range of possibilities now includes “miniature.” Now available to stream on Nvidia Shield devices via a GeForce Now, Mini Ninjas is an action-adventure game that has large environments, and the sort of mayhem that only ninjas can facilitate.
Nvidia has put a selection of games on sale for the next few days in order to celebrate the upcoming Halloween season. All of the games on sale are, of course, somehow dealing with themes you would find during Halloween, whether it is zombies, other undead creatures, horror games, and so on.
While many first-person shooter games aim to deliver convincingly realistic battle simulations based in the real-world, Shadow Warrior 2 strives for the opposite. Offbeat, over-the-top and gore-drenched, Shadow Warrior 2 is a throwback to non-stop action fueled FPS games of the past but features modern, detailed visuals that take advantage of next-generation gaming hardware.
Originally released on PC and consoles in 2014, Thief is a modern reboot of the first-person stealth action franchise by the same name developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix. Now owners of Nvidia Shield devices can stream the full game with a GeForce Now membership.
Square Enix and IO Interactive’s critically acclaimed stealth-infused action game, Hitman: Absolution, is now available to stream on Nvidia’s Shield family of devices, including Shield Android TV and Shield Tablet. The game is available to stream with a GeForce Now membership, which costs $7.99/month and free to try out for the first three months.
