Sega releases House of the Dead: Overkill – The Lost Reels for zombie killing fun

Thursdays are slowly becoming the day where many Android games are released. Sega is jumping onto that trend and have released their newest game onto Android this morning, which has a rather long name, called House of the Dead: Overkill – The Lost Reels. If you remember our coverage of this game when we announced that it would be coming to Android, you probably already know enough to go get the game now.

However, if you missed our coverage when the game was announced as coming to Android during GDC 2013, here is a quick rundown of what you will be doing in House of the Dead: Overkill – The Lost Reels. You’ll be killing zombies. Lots and lots of zombies to be exact. It isn’t all just mindless zombie killing though. You’ll have to keep an eye out for innocent people who are not zombies, you don’t want to shoot them.

Players will have a selection of seven different weapons to use skillfully in order to shoot all these lovely zombies in the face with. Some examples of the handy weapons you will be using that just happen to be laying around are the magnum, SMG, assault rifle and even mini-gun. Expanding on these weapons, players can customize them using the money you earn in-game called Ka$h with things like combo extenders and reload boosters.

If you’re a fan of Sega games from back in the day, there are also a few surprises in House of the Dead: Overkill – The Lost Reels in regards to weapons. As for picking up the game, you can now grab a copy off of Google Play for $4.99. Just a quick note: If you don’t see it listed on Google Play when you go to its page, that is because it just got released so it is still propagating throughout the Google Play store. Give it a few minutes and it should appear.
