Turn-based dungeon crawler Dungenious will be landing on Android next week

Next week on April 14th is turning into a pretty busy release day for Android games and there are even more being announced for that Thursday, with the newest title being Dungenious. Developed by Noizoo Games, this turn-based dungeon crawler is actually a bit of an unusual hybrid game, meshing dungeon crawler with RPG mechanics and a quiz system.

In this game players will need to answer questions in order to progress through the current dungeon they happen to be rummaging around in. As you complete questions, you’ll be able to use that knowledge to your advantage in taking out monsters you encounter within the dungeon. It’s a bit of a strange mix. Answering correctly will also have your character land an attack on a monster. Get an answer wrong and you’re open to getting attacked.

“Attack a Red Book Maki and gain new knowledge that you will use as your weapon against the dungeon’s monsters. Sleepy Wooden Deer awake when you cross their path; Piranha Rats move fast and gnaw away at the letters in a quiz; Jelly Ghosts are unaffected by obstacles and can walk through walls; and the Greedy Monkey will rotate your quiz answers to confuse you — stealing your skills if you take a hit.– Dungenious

Dungenious Features:

– Experience a mix of flashcards and an engaging turn-based dungeon crawler
– Upgrade your hero with powerful skills
– Discover each enemy’s strengths & weaknesses
– Learn with 50 built-in topics
– Create your own quizzes with Quizlet
– Replay your weakest questions to optimize learning

Along the way you’ll be collecting “Genius Points” from fallen monsters which you can use to cast various spells. If you encounter a chest, opening it requires you to complete a whole different type of quiz, where you’ll need to successfully match three answers on the left and three questions on the right. The topics for these quizzes vary greatly as well, ranging from Math to History, Geography, Art, and so on. Players will also be able to create their own flashcards and quizzes using the Quizlet, which you can then load into the game and have to deal with your own custom quizzed.

If you’re interested in this rather unique hybrid game, Dungenious will be landing on Android next Thursday, April 14th, 2016. It will be available for a flat $2.99 price with no IAPs either. You can check out the game’s trailer in the meantime to see this strange game in action.
