Google has officially announced and begun rolling out the new design for the Google Play store application staring right now. Android phones and tablets running Android 2.2 or higher will at some point over the next week or so be receiving the new layout which, we must admit, looks pretty damn nice. Then again each new design iteration of the Google Play application has been a step in the right direction for the most part.
Disney has put a rather large amount of their paid games on sale for free. In fact it can’t even really be called a sale since it is more like a giveaway. Right now the AppSales application is reporting that five Disney games, which is pretty much the majority of their gaming titles, have gone down in price from $0.99 to free.
Not too long ago we mentioned that Team 17 would be bringing their newest addition to their Worms franchise to Android soon. A few days ago Worms 2: Armageddon appeared on the Google Play store but only for residents of Canada only as a soft of quick soft launch to make sure all was well with their new game. As it turns out it seems that everything is good and now Worms 2: Armageddon is available for everyone to download.
While some of you on the east coast of North America are beginning to wake up, and while people elsewhere in the world are getting off work or maybe getting ready to go to sleep, Warballoon Games has release a nice lengthy video of the first 20 minutes of gameplay for Star Command for everyone to enjoy with their morning coffee or after work beer.
Warballoon Games’ upcoming Action-sim game Star Command which had a fairly successful Kickstarter campaign and has been in development for what seems like quite some time may actually be nearing release according to a few tweets over on the company’s Twitter account recently. While the release date of the game has been pushed back a few times, it finally looks like that may be coming to an end and that the game may finally be coming out.
High Voltage games recently made their debut mark on Android with the release of their FPS game The Conduit HD that was for the Wii. Now it appears another Wii game that the company was working on for WiiWare, but was never released, will be coming to Android and iOS in the rather near future.
Triniti Interactive Have been responsible for a decent amount of games as of late, usually in their Call of Mini franchise. However breaking away from that franchise, the company has released a new game called Tiny Legends: Heroes onto Google Play and is actually a sequel to their Crazy Knight game which is also available on Google Play.
We haven’t had to report on Lodsys and some of their idiotic lawsuits that they were trying to pull off almost two years ago. Lodsys, also know as a patent troll, has tried to sue many small mobile game developers, not just on Android but iOS as well. Then suddenly it all stop and the world was at peace once more… until now.
Interesting news coming from Sony today and while it is interesting it also isn’t a huge surprise either as this is kind of how the mobile gaming evolution has been going for the past little while now. It appears that Sony, aside from adding mobile integration with certain features to their upcoming Playstation 4 and some of their games as well, may very well be adding native support for their DualShock 3 controller for their Xperia phones.
Back in February of this year we talked about Craneballs Studios upcoming sequel to their ‘kill everything in sight’ FPS game Overkill. While there are goals and achievements to accomplish the game, its real draw was that there was a ridiculous amount of weaponry you could use and the fact there were factions of players, competing for the highest score over other ones.
