Probably one of the biggest or most surprising announcements this CES was nVidia’s Project Shield which, if you missed the announcement, is their Android-based portable gaming system that not only runs Android games (THD or other) but also PC games streamed from your PC.

With Tegra 4 on the way in the very near future, games are already being development for nVidia’s new chipset such as Dead Trigger 2, Arma Tactics, Aliens vs Predators and more. So naturally some of you wanted us to ask about backwards compatibility for Tegra 3 devices with these new Tegra 4 games.
2012 saw lots of fantastic games arriving on Android, and as such in terms of gaming Android enjoyed a healthy growth. Some of them were original ones, while others were ports from other platforms or classic hits. Anyway, I’ve decided to compile my five most disappointing games that came out in 2012. Just a slight note – disappointing here doesn’t necessarily mean that the game isn’t good, but merely that it turned out to be something lesser than what I expected.

nVidia had a lot to say this year during their press conference which was one of the longer ones we’ve ever attended. Along with their announcement of Tegra 4, which is now official, and Project Shield, there portable Android gaming system, and showcasing some of the upcoming Tegra 4 games like Dead Trigger 2. Also announced was nVidia’s GRID, their answer to improving cloud gaming.
We got to see a sneak peek at Madfinger Games’ upcoming sequel Dead Trigger 2 for Tegra 4 devices last night during the nVidia press conference. Well now the developers have released more details about the game which we will surely be getting a hands-on with in the next day or so. If the preview we saw last night was any indications, this isn’t going to be like the Dead Trigger you know right now.
It seems like Asphalt 7: Heat only just came out yesterday, but Gameloft isn’t resting on their laurels and are already into the deep development stage for the next game in the series, titled Asphalt 8: Infinity. We actually already knew of the existence of this game when Gameloft’s entire 2013 line-up was leaked, but now there’s in-game footage and a leaked developer’s diary to confirm everything.

As you all already know by now, the Tegra 4 chip and the Nvidia Project Shield handheld console, which we will talk about after this, were announced at a special event yesterday night before CES 2013 began officially. Naturally, with the launch of nVidia’s latest mobile processor launch, they have unveiled a selection of games that will arrive on the platform in the coming months.
Well, we did mention that now developers or people with a fair amount of money to blow would be receiving their OUYA development kits over the past week and that videos would start appearing more and more, we now have a good look at the graphics and performance of OUYA running Android games simply installed using their .apk files without any porting having been done.
Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is a game we’ve talked about a few times in the recent past. Developed by American MeGee and his company Spicy Horse Games, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is a rather good looking action RPG that tells a rather twisted version of Red Riding Hood while meshing it with setting it in the Edo period of Japan, inspired by ancient demons, with hand-painted visuals.
