Google Play store app updated to Ver.5, plenty of new design changes to enjoy

Google has been one busy company with the updates to their official apps over the past few weeks and this week is no different as the company has pushed out a major version update for the Google Play store application. The app is now officially in the version 5 numbering and with that you can expect a lot of changes both under-the-hood and visibly with the Google Play store app.

Samsung Gear Live + Windows95 + DOOM + Minecraft = Win

Emulating another operating system on a platform not native to said operating system isn’t a new thing. There are plenty of emulators out there that can emulate just about anything you want, even on a platform like Samsung Gear Live. So while putting Window95 onto your Gear Live might seem a bit odd of an idea at first, until the cool factor sets in. Of course playing DOOM on it definitely adds to that.

New gamer community app GLHF – Gamers Hangout now available in the US Play store

One thing that is interesting about the video game industry is that there are communities just about every aspect of it. There are communities for games specifically, communities for platforms, emulators, modding and just about everything else you can think of that would be apart of video games. A new app has arrived on the US Google Play store called GLHF – Gamers Hangout which is geared towards not only giving gamers another place to hangout, but to also find people to play games with across all platforms.

New changes to the Google Play store include IAP price ranges and more developer details

Google has begun rolling out new changes to the Google Play store today that add some much needed information to current and future Google Play listings. Right now a listing for a game, as an example, currently tells us that it contains IAPs. Now Google has added more information to this particular detail in that we now get to see the range of pricing for the IAPs included in that particular game.

Humble Bundle’s new app is now live in Google Play

For those that aren’t familiar with them, Humble Bundle provides games, books, and other digital offerings to customers. What makes them different is two fold. First, they allow customers to pay whatever amount seen fit for a bundle of games (or books, or comics, or music, or whatever), without any DRM attached. Seriously. Second, the money is divided between Humble Bundle, the developers, and charity, again with the specific amounts being divided up by the customer at the time of purchase.
