Tetris Clones Yanked Off Market

Word has just got out that pretty much every single Tetris close has been yanked off the Android market following a C&D order sent to Google from The Tetris Company LLC. 35 separate titles have been named in the DMCA notice that requests Google to pull them from the Android market which they now have been. We’ve managed to dig up copy of the DMCA notice.

Drill Panic

Drill Panic, Developed by Orange Pixel, is a fast paced game sort of like Abduction! but instead of bouncing your way up platforms, here you have to roll downwards and stay ahead of the drill while collecting gems and other items to help you along. You move by tilting your phone left or right in order to roll into gaps in the ground to get to the next level below you.

No Games for S.Korea

While today is a great day for Droid Gamers and our contest and everyone else seems to be having a great day, Android users in S.Korea, especially the game loving ones, got some bad news today. The Android market will NOT include games in S.Korea! This is a ‘compromise’ basically because the Android market had a possibility of being blocked in S.Korea.

Mass Emulator Update

By mass I mean quantity and developer Yongzh who has developed an emulator for many console systems for use on our Android devices has just dropped an update to every single one of them. Yongzh was one of the first people to bring emulators to Android and they still remain the best so far to date.

I’ve kind of slacked off about keeping up with the Weekly Worst Game Review, not that their hasn’t been enough to review, just been busy writing about other games and getting our first contest organized. Developer Brainmelt GmbH, however, has pulled me out of this slacking off to talk about his awesome new game nicely titled Amateur Housewives.

iDracula by Chillingo

While I was checking over my usual Android news websites that I go to every morning for good reading while drinking coffee I stumbled onto a forum post over at Android and Me about a game called iDracula by Chillingo. Saw the screens of it and it got my interest so I downloaded it onto my G1 to give it a whirl. iDracula is a top-down shooter game with power-up and all sorts of goodies.

zGhost for Android

zGames just released their ghost game called zGhost onto the Android Market. This game is massive in size when compared to the rest of the games on the market (the download is 18.8MB) and is an augmented reality game where you use your camera to see ghosts around you. Sound familiar? It should because we’ve written about a similar game that’s on it’s way to Android.

Leonard Frog Beta

Leonard Frog, by developer Masrlinu, is a frogger style game that’s been out since the beginning of January and has since then gotten a couple of big updates. This game is an Android port of the very popular iPhone version and points some new twists into the Frogger genre with things like power-ups.
