Project Tango is a venture that Google is undertaking by designing hardware that is able to render models of its surrounding environment. Tango’s sensors take over a quarter of a million measurements every second to update the position of the phone. It then takes all the information and fuses it into a single 3d model of its environment. Why would that matter to gamers like ourselves? I’m glad you asked! Here’s why: for example it’s able to scan a room to create a 3D rendering.
EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson has decided to come out and state what pretty much the entire mobile gaming world already knows, and we even stated it back when the game first came out, that the company’s Dungeon Keeper game’s microtransactions were ‘a shame’. He further went on to say that the company ‘misjudged the economy’ and while that may sound like an odd statement, it sounds like it was more in reference to how the game was priced rather than no one could afford it and the game sucked.

Transformers Age of Extinction (the movie) hits theaters this Friday. So of course any big-budget movie based off of a toy is going to have a mobile game to go along with it. Sharing the same name, the game is actually a 3D runner. However to split itself a part from those usual games, and to capture the Transformers feel, there is combat. Fighting is done as one of the two Transformer forms, vehicle or robot. You can upgrade your Transformers to make your team even more powerful.
While not specifically a game per se, Transformers: Age of Extinction is an app with game elements that ties in with the upcoming movie of the same name. The app features a bevy of features, all of which involve promoting the movie, obviously. Character Bios, trailers, a photo gallery, and a look at all the new Transformers toys themselves are all a part of the app.
In an interesting partnership between MMO giant Nexon and Capcom, both companies are working to bring Street Fighter IV Arena to Android. This will be the first exclusively mobile Street Fighter title in the franchise. In fact the game has come along quite nicely as it is already in beta testing phase over in Korea.
Bulkypix has announced that they will be bringing their newly released (onto iOS) vertical shmup to Android in the near future. For those of you not familiar with the term “shmup”, it just means shoot-em-up which is basically an arcade shooter, in this case one that scrolls vertically and not horizontally.
