Square Enix has made one of their games on Android just a little bit more accessible as they have put Chaos Rings up on Sony’s Playstation Mobile store. This is the first Square Enix title to appear on the store and while most Android users shouldn’t have a problem grabbing their games off of Google Play, those of you who prefer Sony’s store can now grab a copy of Chaos Rings off of there.

Square Enix’s Chaos Rings series will be getting a new installment soon and this time it will be getting social gameplay elements added into it. This isn’t the first franchise announced by Square Enix that will be getting social features added to it. Final Fantasy Tactics S is also on the horizon and will be arriving at some point in the near future as well.
It’s that time again to round-up all the sales going on right now for Android games since it is Friday and the end of the week. There is certainly plenty of games on sale to spend money on while saving quite a few bucks in the process as well. As we have reported since Wednesday, Square Enix has a bunch of games on sale as does Kemco and Sega has put all the Sonic The Hedgehog games on sale as well.
[Updated] Mid-week Android Game Sales Round-up: Final Fantasy III, Worms 2, Broken Sword II and more
While we missed last week with regards to posting are usual Android game sales round-up both mid-week and at the end, we are back now and just in time to post a rather impressive list of games currently on sale right now. There are a lot of big named titles going for some pretty good discounts including a variety of Square Enix titles currently going for 50% off.
Fans of the Chaos Rings franchise that haven’t yet picked up either Chaos Rings or Chaos Rings Omega might want to consider doing so as Square Enix has put both titles on sale at a steep discount in celebration of Chaos Rings II being released onto Google Play. Both games will be on sale starting today for one week only.
You may remember back in mid-February that we mentioned that there would be two games coming our way from Square Enix called Drakerider and Chaos Rings II. Well Square Enix has brought one of those games so far over to Android for a worldwide release (initially it was Japan only) and that game is Chaos Rings II.
Square Enix hasn’t really done anything sale-wise since they started releasing games onto Android but that appears to have changed as a bunch of their games are now on sale for the holidays. This isn’t just a dollar or two off of their game’s regular pricing either but a heavy discount on most of their titles.
It appears, as what usually happens in this instance, that Square Enix has seen the error of their ways when they decided to restrict rooted Android users from being able to download and play Chaos Rings. The tidbit of information came after the release of the game so rooted users were left wondering what was going on. Square Enix eventually added the ‘will not work on rooted devices’ line to their market listing on Google Play.
Perhaps it is the belief that some developed have that rooted users are the cause of piracy one Android or maybe it is something else, but when you segregate a rather large demographic of the Android population, you’re going to get lash back. It’s happened in the past and now it is Square Enix’s turn as they recently changed their market description to include one new tiny sentence. That sentence informs everyone that rooted users will be unable to play Chaos Rings, their newest game released yesterday.
One game a lot of people were hoping would come to Android from Square Enix was their RPG title called Chaos Rings. However Square Enix has really had no plans to bring the game to Android at all, or at least that is what we thought since they have never said anything publicly about releasing Chaos Rings for Android. However, here we are staring at it on our Android devices as Square Enix quietly unleashed this much wanted title today.
